This error appears when your browser doesn’t have permission to access your microphone or speakers. This usually happens if you previously clicked ‘Block’, ‘Don’t Allow’, or closed the permissions prompt.
To fix this:
Safari (iPhone)
- Open Settings.
- Search and select Safari.
- Scroll down to Settings for Websites → Microphone.
- Set access to Allow
Chrome (iPhone)
- Open Settings.
- Go to Privacy & Security → Microphone.
- Turn Chrome ON.
- Reopen Chrome — when Deb requests access again, tap Allow.
Chrome (Android)
- Open Chrome.
- Tap ⋮ → Settings.
- Go to Site settings → Microphone.
- Make sure the Deb website is set to Allow.
- If it’s listed under Blocked, tap it and switch to Allow.
Chrome (Desktop)
- Open Deb in Chrome.
- Click the Tune icon (left of the address bar).
- Select Site settings for the Deb site.
- Find Microphone and Sound.
- Set both to Allow.
- Reload the page.
Safari (Desktop)
- Open Deb in Safari.
- Go to Safari → Settings.
- Click Microphone.
- Set the Deb website to Allow.
You may also need to enable system access: System Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone → Safari (ON)
