The Richard Koch Cup is a national debate competition for all schools and students on the Debate Mate Programme, which this year had over 1000 students participate in. Top university debaters run debate clubs in schools across the UK, empowering school students to run their own clubs and to develop the confidence and ability to speak clearly and confidently in public. The Richard Koch Cup is the grand finale of the year - which the students train towards.
This year there were four regional championships - with Manchester Academy, Lordswood boys School, Cator Park School and Kingsford Community School coming out as Regional Champions, who were invited to compete in the Naitonal Finals day.
